Muhammad Ismail Afridi and Adithya Shetty wreck Kabul Zalmi to give Z Game Strikers a six-wicket win in the Sharjah Ramadan Cup T20 tournament

Muhammad Ismail Afridi destroyed Kabul Zalmi’s top order with a three-wicket spell while Adithya Shetty wrecked their middle-order with another three wicket spell to ensure Z Game Strikers a six-wicket win in the 18th match of the 34th Sharjah Ramadan Cup T20 tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Kabul Zalmi won the toss and elected to bat. Opener Zainullah hit 11 runs before getting out to Muhammad Ismail Afridi. Star batsman Amjad Gul too got out to Muhammad Ismail Afridi for 2. Opener Khan Yasir and Noorulhadi Muslimyar took the score to 35 before Yasir became Muhammad Ismail Afridi’s third victim for 14. After the fall of these three wickets, Adithya Shetty struck twice to remove Niaz Khan for 1 and Abdulhaq for a duck.

With half the side back in the dug-out for 50, Kabul Zalmi struggled for runs. Eight runs later Muhammad Daud got out caught and bowled to Mubeen Ali Malik for 4. Noorulhadi Muslimyar, who kept the scoreboard moving, got out to Adithya Shetty for 31. When the score was five runs short of the 100-run mark, Abdullah Khan got out to Shahrukh Muhammad Amin for 1. At the score of 100, Nilansh Keswani struck twice to get Shoaib Abid got clean bowled for 1 and also got Riaz Khaliq Kaku out a for a duck. Skipper Abdul Latif Ayobi remained unbeaten on 23 and Kabul Zalmi got bowled out for 100 in 17 overs.


Chasing the target, Z Game Strikers lost opener Ronak Panoly to the second ball of the first over from Niaz Khan for a duck. Opener Shahrukh Muhammad Amin stayed on to take the score to 27 when Abdul Haq got him out caught behind by wicketkeeper Muhammad Daud for 8. Sardar Bahazad pushed the score to 34 before getting bowled to Shoaib Abid for 2.

The consistent Lovepreet Bajwa hit a valuable 27 before getting out at the scone of 59 to Abdul Latif Ayobi. This was followed by a match-winning unbeaten partnership of 42 runs for the fifth wicket between Fahad Nawaz and Nadir Hussian. Nawaz remained unbeaten on 31 while Hussain remained unconquered on 25 and Z Game Strikers won in 12.4 overs.
