Ajman’s stunning win over Sharjah opens up Emirates D10 tournament battle

 By K.R. Nayar Ajman’s unexpected win over formidable Sharjah and the strength of Fujairah and Emirates Blues were on display on the sixth day of the Emirates D10 tournament. Clashes are heating up with stunning performances from Ajman’s Asif Khan, Abdul Shakoor, Fujairah’s Waseem Muhammad, Sharjah’s Vriitya Anand, and other talented players from the UAE  Ajman pulled off a stunning eight-wicket win over fancied Sharjah to open up the battle for  Fancode Emirates D10 2021 powered by SKY 247 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The third match of the sixth day turned out to be a thrilling chase despite Sharjah posting a challenging total of 128 for 5. The clash saw Sharjah’s 18-year-old opener  Vriitya Aravind play a spectacular knock of 71 and also clinch third place among the highest run-getters of the tournament so far with 192 runs from seven matches. Nayar The fifth day of the Emirates D10 produces splendid bowling and batting displays as Emirates Blues move to the top of the table.  The number of big hits shoots up from  115 sixes from 12 matches to 152 sixes today. So intense is the battle at the top that three teams are on eight points while Ajman is in the fourth place with four points. Nayar The stage is set for the second round of Emirates D10 with Sharjah winning all their four matches, and Emirates Blues and Fujairah in a hot chase to clinch the top spot.  Emirates Blues’ Muhammad Boota and Fujairah’s Chirag Suri have been the star performers with the bat while Sharjah’s Umair Ali and Kashif Daud are the top performers with the ball. This included Vriitya Aravind and Chirag Suri’s sparkling knocks, accurate leg-spin from Muhammad Farooq, Ali Abid’s fighting knock that went in vain, and brilliant captaincy by Fujairah skipper Ahmed Raza When the cream of talented cricketers from the UAE display their skills, it turns into an exciting spectacle to witness.
