Jiju Janardhanan steers Pacific Group to a six-wicket win over 11 ACE in the CBFS T20 match

By K.R. Nayar  Jiju Janardhanan, displaying the confidence and experience that he carries with him, steered Pacific Group to a six-wicket win over 11 ACE in the CBFS T20 match on Sunday. Playing in the second double header of the day, Janardhanan provided a breezy start to Pacific Group through a knock of 47 off 32 balls with six boundaries and two sixes and helped his team win in 17.3 overs. He also bagged two wickets to restrict 11 ACE to 130 for 7 in 20 overs.  Pacific Group won the toss and put 11 Ace into bat. Nayar  Future Mattress’s off spinner Faraazuddin bowled out strong Colatta Chocolates for 114 in 18.5 overs and pulled off an emphatic nine wicket win in the 13 th  match of the CBFS T20 match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday. Faraazuddin bagged three wickets giving away just 19 runs from his four overs.  It was the first double header match of the day and Future Mattress’ first match in this tournament. Nayar Defenders Cricket Club recorded a double triumph on the third day of the DCC XI Rapid Fire Division One tournament defeating VTAC Volts by nine wickets in the first match of the day on Sunday and then defeating DCC Starlets in the third match. DCC Starlets, playing their second match defeated Lyari Kings by 51 runs. Nayar Dubai Cricket Council’s DCC Starlets, riding on their skipper Ronak Panoly’s power-packed knock of 69 off just 19 balls with five boundaries and six sixes, defeated VTAC Volts by 23 runs. In the third match of the second day of the Dubai Cricket Council’s DCC XI Rapid Fire Division One tournament on Saturday at the Sevens ground, DCC Starlets got off to a winning start. Nayar Karwan Cricket Club’s allrounder Ameer Hamsa batted brilliantly and bowled shrewdly to ensure a seven-wicket win over JVC Stalllions in the 12 th  match of the CBFS T20 tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The second double header of the day saw Ameer Hamza crack an unbeaten 51 and bag three wickets for just 10 runs from his three overs to ensure a well fought win for Karwan Cricket Club. JVC Stallions won the toss and promptly elected to bat. They got off to a good start too with openers Muhammad Shahid and Imran Cheetah putting on 32 runs before Tariq Mehmood clean bowled Muhammad Shahid for 13. Two runs later, Zahid got Imran out for 14. Skipper Manikandan Kalimuthu too followed quickly falling to Babar Iqbal for 2 and JVC Stallions slipped to 36 for 3 in 6.4 overs. Nayar Sailles Jaishankar, a young medium pacer, bowled the spirited bunch of young DCC Starlets to a thrilling four runs win over experienced Sri Lions in the 11 th  match of the CBFS T20 match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Saturday. The DCC Starlets-Sri Lions match was the first doubleheader of the day and Sailles Jaishankar through a spell of five for 31 restricted Sri Lions to 161 in 20 overs after DCC Starlets had posted 165 for 6 in 20 overs through Ahaan Fernandes’s unbeaten knock of 58 and skipper Ronak Panoly’s 45 runs. Ronak Panoly, after winning the toss and electing to bat, himself came out to bat with Shrey Sethi. Fresh from his unbeaten knock of 114 against Karwan Cricket Club in his previous CBFS T20 match, Ronak Panoly unleashed his strokes.  He put on 60 runs in 5.1 overs before getting bowled to a beauty from Sri Lions’ accurate left-arm spinner  Vimukthi Kulathunga . The clash between The Vision Shipping and 11 ACE in the 10th match of the CBFS T20 match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium was another instance of brilliant cricket that these teams play. Sharjah Cricket, through their tag line ‘a platform to perform’ has been providing the stage for the best of talent in the UAE to sparkle. The Vision Shipping opted to field first yesterday but failed to break the 11 ACE opening partnership till the ninth over. 11 ACE put on a 91 runs partnership before the consistent Usman Khan who was in full flow and had scored 58 off 32 balls with six boundaries and four sixes got out to Jawad Ghani. Nayar It was an electrifying start to the revamped Dubai Cricket Council’s first tournament of the season.  The DCC Rapid Fire Division One tournament held at the Sevens Ground on Thursday saw all three matches of the day ending in nail biting thrillers. InterGlobe Marine pulled off a ten runs win over Defenders Cricket Club while Colatta Chocolates recorded a 15 runs victory and 11 ACE beat Colatta Chocolates, who were playing their second successive match of the day, by 14 runs.   The hero for InterGlobe Marine was Yasir Kaleem who hit a 55 off just 22 balls studded with five sixes and four boundaries. The match winner for Colatta Chocolates was Syam Ramesh who picked two wickets and scored a valuable unbeaten 32 . 11 ACE’s hero was the aggressive Sagar Kalyan who smashed 85 runs off just 34 balls with seven boundaries and seven sixes.
