Matt Boucher, Chief Executive Officer, Abu Dhabi Cricket, has announced that the stage is set for an intensely fought Abu Dhabi T10 tournament following the draw held at Hotel Fairmont Bab Al Bahr in Abu Dhabi. Boucher is also delighted with the stars who will be icons of the event.

Speaking to krbuzz.blogspot.com after the draw, Boucher said: “One of the first milestones of the fourth edition is now in the bag, and this is a fantastic moment for everybody. It has been a successful phase of players’ procurement and confirmations for this edition. I am impressed with the icons and the platinum category stars announced by the teams in the last couple of weeks. It's a great day for Abu Dhabi T10 tournament.”

Group A includes Maratha Arabians, Bangla Tigers, Delhi Bulls, and Northern Warriors. Group B consists of Deccan Gladiators, Qalandars, Team Abu Dhabi, and Pune Devils. Boucher is confident that all matches will be keenly fought. “It looks like a brilliant set of games over ten days at the Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium from January 28 to February 6.”
Although the event is being held during Covid times, and is a challenge for everyone, Boucher is delighted at the response from top cricketers around the world. “The players are extremely excited and looking forward to the tournament. We are gearing up to increase the marketing and promotions, and there is excitement to deliver a top-class event at the end of January.”

UAE had recently staged the Dream 11 Indian Premier League and the Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium had witnessed some exciting matches.  “We've all have been fortunate to have hosted the Dream 11 Indian Premier League event recently, and it was brilliant. Once this 4th edition of T10 takes off, it will be a big achievement for the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture and Tourism who will once again provide support towards the event.”

Boucher is of the opinion that the future for the Abu Dhabi T10 tournament is bright. “The more we are able to build up this event, the higher are the possibilities of this becoming a permanent fixture in world cricket,” he remarked.
