A victory with a difference for The Vision Shipping while InterGlobe Marine and Karwan Strikers record easy victories in the Sharjah Ramadan League 2022 powered by Fancode S10 tournament

The Vision Shipping won a match which was unique in many ways over Dubai Aviators in the Sharjah Ramadan League 2022 powered by Fancode S10 tournament. They posted a huge score of 140 for 6 in 10 overs but with no batsman posting a big score. Dubai Aviators scored only 83 for 3 in 10 overs and lost by 57 runs despite many wickets in hand. Interestingly, Dubai Aviators’ opener Ahsan Shahzad scored an unbeaten 64 out of the team’s total of 83. Only 19 runs came from the other batsmen. Out of the three wickets that Dubai Aviators lost, two were taken by Vision Shipping’s Irad Ali who also had hit an unbeaten 13 and was adjudged the player of the match.

The most outstanding performance of the day came from Karwan Strikers Ameer Hamza. He cracked 51 and also bagged two wickets to ensure a 32 run win over Al Moharb Cricket Academy. Niaz Khan of Karwan too bagged four wickets for 13 runs. InterGlobe Marine defeated Mideast by six wickets despite Mideast Metals’ skipper Ali Anwaar scoring 50 runs. Yasir Khaleem hit an unbeaten 37 to steer InterGlobe to victory with one over to spare.

Irad Ali shines

The Vision Shipping opted to bat and got a winning score. It wasn’t a great start for them as they lost captain Saqib Mehmood run out for 7 and their wicketkeeper batsman Sajjad Ali out for 10. Even Malik Nadeem got out for a single digit score of 8 but Salman Khan (28), Sami Ur Rehman (22) and Sajjad Malook (23n.o) and Irad Ali’s unbeaten 13 gave them a huge total of 140 in 10 overs.

It was a strange chase with opener Ahsan Shahzad alone scoring an unbeaten 64. Irad Ali got opener Azlam Azeez and one-drop Sihab clean bowled for one run each while Malik Nadeem got Ammad Jawaid out for 7. Vision Shipping won the match by 57 runs.

 Responsible knock from Yasir Khaleem

Mideast Metals too elected to bat after winning the toss but could post only 98 for 4 in their 10 overs. The accurate Asif Mumtaz got opener Faizan Awan out for 3 and also one-drop Rizwan for 4. Harry Bharwal had Ateeq Ur Rehman stumped by wicketkeeper Yasir Khaleem for 11. Rizwan CP also picked the wicket of Tehran Niacin for 13.  Ali Anwaar played a captain’s knock of 50 off 30 balls with four boundaries and three sixes.

Yasir Khaleem

Mideast Metals made a valiant effort to scuttle InterGlobe Marine’s victory plans. Faizan Ali got the consistent opener Asif Khan out for 21 as well as the aggressive opener Sandeep Singh caught and bowled for 16. Ali Anwaar then got the steady scorer Rizwan CP out for 11. But Yasir Khaleem went about the task to take the team to the target despite wickets falling regularly. Though Tehran Niacian got Basil Hameed caught behind by wicketkeeper Ateeq Ur Rehman for 3, Vishnu Sukumaran, through his unbeaten 12, and Yasir Khaleem’s unbeaten 37 ensured their victory with one over to spare.

Ameer Hamza’s allround show

Al Moharb Cricket Academy, unlike the other two teams, did not elect to bat after winning the toss. Batting first, Karwan Strikers posted a challenging 115 for 8. Their consistent batsman and opener Fayyaz Ahmed hit 26 runs despite losing his partner Sagar Kalyan for only two runs. Ameer Hamza then dominated the bowling and scored 51 runs off 25 balls with seven boundaries and two sixes. Rana Jahandad chipped in with 15 runs before getting run out.

Al Moharb chased the total through their opener Asfan Dyar who in his last match against Dubai Aviators had scored 51 runs. In this match he got clean bowled by Muhammad Mudassar for 20. Opener Mohibullah too got run out for 4.  After Ameer Hamza clean bowled one-drop Khyal Maan for 14 and Sheraz Ahmed Khalil caught behind by wicket keeper Furqan Khalil for 1, Niaz Khan struck.  He had Haseeb Ur Rehman bowled for 1, Moiz Delhiwala caught behind for 8, and Hassan Ali Khan and Gul out to return with figures of 4 for 13 from his two overs.
