Maxtalent Global Sports emerged as the champions of the Under-13 Spring Academy Challenge Inter-Academy Tournament, which was held at the Australia International School Sharjah. Organised by Springs Academy, this was the first edition of this tournament. The star performer in Maxtalents Global Sports triumph was their skipper Sachin Prakash who produced a timely all-round show.

This Under-13 tournament was a contest between 12 teams on a league and knock out basis, and it produced some thrilling matches. Maxtalent and MS Academy reached the final.

Maxtalent won mainly due to their team’s strong all-round show. They batted first and their opening batsmen laid the foundation for a fighting total through Souresh Singla's 27 runs from 34 balls and his partner, captain Sachin Prakash, who hit 16 runs from 18 balls, to put on a 47 runs partnership. This was followed by middle order batsman Sidhya Bhandarkar scoring 33 from 37 balls to help Maxtalent post a defendable total. MS Academy’s Mihir Tanwani sparkled with four wickets for 31 runs, well backed by Riyon Lobo with three wickets for 26 runs.

MS Academy’s chase towards the target began on a bad note. Maxtalent’s pace bowlers led by Kartikey, Siddharth, Sachin and Sahil struck repeatedly to pick two wickets each. They were cheered by many sporting parents who turned up to watch the final. Sudhakar Shetty, MD and head coach of the Maxtalent academy said: “They bowled with determination wanting to boost Maxtalent and pick their sixth title of the season. And they did it in style winning by 59 runs.”

Though MS Academy had a bad start, they fought valiantly and played out the full 25 overs. Their diminutive tailenders Riyan Lobo (seven runs from 34 ball) and Akhil Anoop (4 runs from 26 ball), held on and delayed Maxtalent’s triumph.
