Brothers Gas’ Usman Khan’s half century and The Vision Shipping’s Asim Kamal’s four wicket spell take their teams to semifinal of the Bukhatir S10 league powered by Fancode

Brother’s Gas’s Usman Khan cracked 52 runs in his team’s 19-runs win over Medisol Labs – GHI to clinch a semifinal spot in the Bukhatir S10 league powered by Fancode at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. In another quarterfinal match, Asim Kamal produced a deadly spell of four wickets for nine runs to ensure The Vision Shipping a six-wicket win over Colatta Chocolates and also reach the semifinal.


The third quarterfinal match saw Medisol Labs – GHI winning the toss and electing to field. Brothers Gas got off to a breezy start with Usman Khan going for his shots. He put on 52 runs in five overs before losing his partner Hamdan Tahir to Muzamil for 8.  At the score on 63, Usman Khan, who did majority of the scoring, fell to Rizwan Azam for 52. His knock off 29 balls had seven boundaries and two sixes. One-drop Muhammad Afazl then fell, clean bowled by Abdul Mali for 1. Umer Farooq ensured that Brothers Gas cross the 100 run mark before getting run out for 29 runs.  Brothers Gas went on to post 104 for 5 in 10 overs.


Medisol Labs – GHI lost opener Syed Maqsood clean bowled by Waseem Akram for 1. Muhammad Azhar clean bowled one-drop Muhammad Kaleem for a duck. Opener Fayyaz Ahmed and Uzair Maan took the score to 34 before Fayyaz Ahmed got out to Muhammad Azhar for 25. Uzair Maan took the score to 61 but got trapped leg before to Mujahid Amin for 22. After Shahan Akram got out to Waseem Akram for 18, Medisol Labs – GHI could muster only 85 runs in their 10 overs.

In the fourth quarterfinal between The Vision Shipping and  Colatta Chocolates, The Vision Shipping opted to field. Colatta Chocolates could not get off to a steady start as opener Shinto George got clean bowled by Irad Ali for 15.  Renjith Mani became Asim Kamal’s first victim for 11 runs. Irad Ali then clean bowled one-drop Hari Prasanth. This was followed by a breakdown on Colatta Chocolates by Asim Kamal. He got Janaka Chaturanga and Shyam Ramesh, both for 1 each, and also had Waqas Ali clean bowled for 10. 


Mohtasim Jakti and Mansoor KL, through unbeaten knocks of 21 and 23 respectively, ensured their team crossed the 100 run mark and posted a total of 104 for 6.


The Vision Shipping lost their openers quickly during the chase. Opener Malik Nadeem got run out for 1 and opener Saqib Mehmood got clean bowled to Jiyas KK for 6. One-drop and consistent scorer Fayaz Frank hit 27 runs while Shahbaz Ali top scored with 30 runs. Manpreet Singh removed both Fayaz and Shahbaz at the score on 67. Junaid Shamsu (10n.o) and Waheed Ahmed (16n.o) took The Vision Shipping to the target in 8.5 overs.
