Irad Ali’s spell of three-wickets for no run and two last over victories add to the excitement of the Bukhatir S10 league powered by Fancode

A fine three wicket spell from Irad Ali giving away no run gave The Vision Shipping a nine-wicket win over Fair Deal Defenders 7 District, while two matches ended in a last over finish, adding more excitement to the Bukhatir S10 league powered by Fancode matches at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.


In the 17th match of the tournament, Future Mattress defeated Colatta Chocolates by four wickets in the first of the two matches that went into the last over.  Future Mattress elected to field and saw Colatta Chocolates post a challenging 123 for 5. Though Colatta Chocolates opener Shinto George fell for a duck to Tassawar Jammu, Renjith Mani and Hari Prasanth lifted their team through a 63-runs partnership for the second wicket in just 4.1 overs. Hari Prasanth fell to Ali Sial for 33 and Mani fell caught behind by wicket keeper Abdul Shakoor off Umair Ali when he was just two short of his half century. His 48 off 21 balls had ten boundaries. Umair Ali also struck to remove Mohtasim Jakti for 13. Shyam Ramesh, through an unbeaten 18, ensured his team a challenging total.


Future Mattress too lost their opener Abdul Shakoor, clean bowled by Mohtasim Jakti, for a duck. This was followed by a 60-runs partnership for the second wicket between Ansar Khan and Mohammad Ikram. Ansar Khan fell to Waqas Ali for 48 off just 17 balls with six sixers but only one boundary. At the score of 100, Amjad Gul got out to Jiyas KK for 9. Mohammad Ikram took the score 113 before falling to Shyam Ramesh for 42 off 23 balls with seven boundaries and a six. Nine runs were needed to win from the last over. Masnoor KL got Umair Ali out caught at point by Krishan Paul. But Muhammad Mudassar hit a boundary off the fourth ball of the innings and won the match by 4 wickets.

In the last league round match, The Vision Shipping defeated Fair Deal Defenders 7 District by 9 wickets. The Vision Shipping displayed their bowling strength led by Irad Ali who provided the most sensational start to a match. With the first ball of the innings, Irad Ali clean bowled opener Muhammad Irman OD. Irad also clean bowled Sagheer Afridi with the second ball. Though he missed a hat-trick, with the fourth ball he trapped Shaizoo leg before for a duck.  After this spell, except for Haider Ali, none could withstand The Vision Shipping's bowling and Fair Deal Defenders 7 District were all out for 54 in 8.2 overs. Haider Ali scored a fighting 21 runs.

Chasing the score, The Vision Shipping lost opener Jawad Ghani stumped by wicketkeeper Muhammad Imran off Zameere Abbasi for a duck. This was followed by a stupendous knock from one-drop Fayaz Frank. All that the other opener Malik Nadeem could do was to watch Fayaz with awe as he went for his shots and and hit an unbeaten 51 off 18 balls with six boundaries and three sixes. Nadeem faced just one ball and scored one run. The Vision Shipping won in 3.1 overs.

In the first quarterfinals, Future Mattress defeated DCC Starlets by five wickets. Although DCC Starlets opted to bat, they never got going. Opener Rameez Shahzad fell for 7 to Ali Sial. This was followed by Haider Ali striking thrice to dismiss Rishab Mukherjee for 2, Shival Bawa for 1 and Shaurya Singh for 3. Only opener Ronak Panoly (18) and Abdullah Tarique (13) reached double figures.


DCC Starlets made a strong effort to stop Future Mattress from scoring. With the second ball of the first over Shival Bawa clean bowled opener Alishan Sharafu for a duck. Ronak Panoly also dismissed the experienced Amjad Gul for 10. At the score of 19, the consistent Aryan Lakra got caught behind by wicketkeeper Vaibhav Vaswani off Mathew George for 6.  


Syed Haider Shah and Rohan Mustafa then took the score to 44 by the halfway mark.  Rishab Mukherjee clean bowled Syed Haider Shah for 11 and Mustafa for 17. But Usman hit an unbeaten 15 and Mohammad Ikram remained unbeaten on 8, and took Future Mattress to the target in 8.1 overs.

The second quarter final between Fair Deal Defenders 7 district and InterGlobe Marine was keenly fought. InterGlobe Marine opted to field and saw Fair Deal Defenders openers Muhammad Imran OD and Salman Babar put on 41 runs in four overs before Muhmamad Imran got caught by Vishnu Sukumaran off Asif Mumtaz. Fourteen runs later, Harry Bharwal clean bowled Salman Babar for 29. But Shaizoo kept the scoreboard moving hitting 25 runs. After Sayed Saqlain had scored 16 runs and Muhammad Saghir Khan too chipped in with an unbeaten 14, Fair Deal Defenders 7 district posted 117 for 5 in 10 overs.


Chasing a run-rate of 11.70, InterGlobe Marine began well with their star batsman Asif Khan hitting 29 out of the 35 runs opening partnership with Sandeep Singh. Even though Muhammad Saghir Khan clean bowled Asif Khan, Sandeep Singh hit 22 runs and took the score to 57 before falling to Yasir Maharvi.  Ten runs later, Basil Hameed got caught and bowled by Wahab Hassan for 7. Vishnu Sukumaran too followed falling to Muhammad Saghir Khan for 7. When Muhammad Saghir Khan clean bowled Hameed Khan for a duck, half the side was back in the dug-out for 88 in 7.5 overs.


Touqueer Riyasat stayed on to hit 10 runs before falling to Arsland Javaid Mughal. However, Yasir Kaleem withstood the mounting pressure and kept the scoreboard moving. When nine runs were needed from the last over, Yasir Kaleem took a single off the second ball from Syed Saqlain. Shahnawaz Khan then hit the third delivery for a boundary to fine leg and also took a single off the fourth to remain unbeaten on 6. Yasir Kaleem then scored two runs off the fifth ball to ensure an exciting four-wicket win and remain unbeaten on 30 off 20 balls with three boundaries and a six.
