Two sparkling half centuries from Brothers Gas’ Jiju
Janardhanan and Future Mattress’s Syed Haider Shah steered their teams to
victories, while timely spells from Fair Deal Defenders 7 District’s Muhammad
Imran and InterGlobe Marine’s Hazrat Luqman gave their team’s impressive
victories in the Bukhatir S10 league powered
by Fancode at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
The 13th match of the tournament was a keenly fought one. It was a low scoring match between Fair Deal Defenders 7 District and Ajman Heroes. In fact, Ajman Heroes, after electing to field, restricted Fair Deal Defenders 7 District to 93 for 7. It was Ajman Heroes' veteran off spinner Nasir Aziz who with a two-wicket for 13 runs spell restricted Fair Brothers despite knocks from Shaizoo (28) and Syed Saqlain (28n.o). The other contributors were opener Muhammad Imran OD (10) and Muhammad Imran (11).
Although it was an achievable target for Ajman Heroes, they lost their star opener Sagar Kalyan to the first ball of the innings from Zameer Abbasi. One-drop Khalid Shah too departed to the fourth ball of the first over from Zameer Abassi for 1. Rahul Chopra and opener Adnan Arif took the score to 39 in 5.3 overs when Chopra fell to Javaid Mughal for 11. Muhammad Imran struck twice to remove Mohammad Ajman for 8 and Wajahat Rasool for 1. When Adnan Arif fell to Javid Mughal, defeat began to stare at Ajman. Nasir Aziz made a valiant effort to pull Ajman towards the target through an unbeaten 24. After Adnan Ul Mulk too fell for 8, clean bowled by Muhammad Saghir Khan, Ajman lost by seven runs.
The 14th match of the tournament
between InterGlobe Marine and Rajkot Thunders was a one-sided contest. It
was mainly because Rajkot, after electing to bat first, could muster only 82
for 8 in 10 overs. After Mohammad Zahid clean bowled opener Ameya Soman and one
drop Francois Lombard for duck, Rajkot struggled for runs. Hazrat Luqman made
it tougher destroying the middle order by getting out Gurdip Singh Virdi for 7
and trapping Rohit Karanjkar leg before for 1. If not for opener Banty Nandy’s
22 and a fighting 40 from Keshav Sharma down the order, Rajkot would not have
managed a total of 82 for 8 in 10 overs.
The strong InterGlobe Marine found the target too easy. Opener Sandeep Singh and Hameed Khan put on 46 runs in just four overs. After Hameed Khan got stumped by wicket keeper Waqas Ilyas off Keshav Sharma for 7, Yasir Kaleem joined Sandeep Singh and took the team to the target in just 6.1 overs. Sandeep Singh cracked an unbeaten 62 off 24 balls with eight boundaries and four sixes. Yasir Kaleem remained unbeaten on 16 to ensure an emphatic nine-wicket win.
The 15th match saw Brothers Gas post a big
score of 155 for 3 against Pakistan Super Market (PSM) XI. In fact, Pakistan
Super Market (PSM) XI had elected to field and saw Brothers Gas openers Jiju
Janardhanan and Usman Khan strike freely. They put on a partnership of 90 runs
in 5.4 overs before Usman Khan fell to Zeeshan Akmal for 38. Abdullah Azhar got
Laxman Manjrekar out for a duck, but Muhammad Afazal hit an unbeaten 29 along
with Jiju Janardhanan to lift the score. Jiju Janardhanan scored 74 runs off 31
balls that was studded with six boundaries and six sixes before being clean
bowled by Hafeez Afridi.
During the chase, Jiju Jandardhan sparkled with the ball too and got opener Rao
Asfand Yar out for 4. At the score on 36, Laxman Manjrekar clean bowled Abid
Ali for 4. Zeeshan Akmal and opener Abdullah Azhar took the score to 59
before Nasir Faraz got Zeeshan out for 13. Mohammed Adnan Khan fell in the
eight over to Waseem Akram for 5. Though Abdullah Azhar went on to hit an
unbeaten 50 off 32 balls with five boundaries and three sixes, and Haseeb Ur
Rehman remained unbeaten on 10, Pakistan Super Market got restricted to 90
for 4 and lose by 65 runs.
Future Mattress scored a big 84-runs win over Hemnet
Properties in the 16th match of the tournament. Future
Mattress, who were asked to bat first, posted a whopping 171 for 4 in 10 overs.
Openers Ansar Khan and Amjad Gul put on an 87 runs opening partnership in just
4.3 overs. The aggressive opener Ansar Khan hit 46 runs off just 14 balls with
four boundaries and four sixes. Amjad Gul and Syed Haider Shah took the score
to 96 by the half way mark before Gul fell to Furqan Shafi for 37. Syed Haider
Shah kept the scoreboard moving at a brisk pace and hit 55 before being caught
