Pakistan Super Market (PSM) XI’s Dawood Ejaz’s half century and Ajman Heroes’ Mohammad Ajmal’s three wicket spell take their team to the Plate final of the Bukhatir S10 league powered by Fancode

Dawood Ejaz’s 54 for Pakistan Super Market (PSM) XI and Ajman Heroes’ Mohammad Ajmal’s three wickets for 11 runs carried their teams to the Plate final of the Bukhatir S10 league powered by Fancode at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Pakistan Super Market (PSM) XI defeated Hemnet Properties by 24 runs in the first plate semifinal while Ajman Heroes down Rajkot Thunders by six wickets. 


In the first Plate semifinal, Pakistan Super Market (PSM) XI opted to bat and got off to a breezy start. Openers Dawood Ejaz and Abdullah Azhar put on 108 runs in 6.1 overs. Abdullah Azhar hit 42 runs off 16 balls with three boundaries and four sixes before falling to Faraz Hussain. Dawood Ejaz took the score to 122 while Saif Khan dismissed Ejaz for 54. His knock off 22 balls had five sixes and four boundaries. One-drop Abid Ali swelled the total through a quick 24 off 13 balls with three sixes before falling to Saif Khan  and ensuring a total of 154 for 4.


Chasing a run-rate of over 15 runs, Hemnet Properties lost opener Aziz Ansari to Saifullah Noor for 4. Opener Haroon Altaf kept scoring at a brisk rate and hit 31 runs before falling to Zeeshan Akmal.  Saqib Ashraf and Rahul Mukesh Soni took the score past the 100-run mark. At the score on 107, Farzan Raja struck to dismiss Saqib Ashraf for 45, His knock off 20 balls had two boundaries and five sixes. Farzan Raja went on to clean bowl Rahul Mukesh for 16. Then Hemnet Properties lost their momentum and ended up being restricted to 130 for 4 and lose by 24 runs.

In the second plate semifinal, Rajkot Thunders elected to bat. Opener Ameya Soman gave a quick start hitting 28 out of the 38 runs opening stand in 3.5 overs. Ameya fell to Ankur Sangwan. At the same score, opener Banty Nandy too became another Ankur Sangwan victim for 7. One run later, off spinner Nasir Aziz removed one drop Dipesh Rajgor for a duck. Francois Lombard and Gurdip Singh Virdi took the score to 57 in 6.4 overs when Nasir Aziz struck again to remove Francois Lombard for 10.  It was at this juncture Mohammad Ajmal struck repeatedly. Ajmal clean bowled Gurdip Singh Virdi for 11. He also clean bowled Sandip Pednekar for 12 and had Rohit Karanjkar caught behind by wicketkeeper Rahul Chopra for a duck.  This resulted in Rajkot Thunders being restricted to 77 for 7 in 10 overs.


Ajman Heroes openers Adnan Arif and Sagar Kalyan put on 22 runs in 2.1 overs. Hardik Patel clean bowled Adnan for 16. Accurate and consistent Banty Nandy removed Sagar Kalyan for 13. Faizan Sheikh and Rahul Chopra batted cautiously and took the score to 64 when Banty Nandy struck again to remove Faizan for 28. Though Mohammad Ajmal fell to Rohit Karanjkar for 3, Chopra, through an unbeaten 12, took Ajman Heroes to the target with five balls to spare.
