Nasir Faraz’s century and his three wicket spell ensure The Vision Shipping a smooth sail to victory in the 47th Bukhatir League

The Vision Shipping sailed to a smooth victory over Future Mattress propelled by Nasir Faraz’s century and a three-wicket spell in the 47th Bukhatir League at Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Thursday. Nasir Faraz’s 107 came off 86 balls studded with eight boundaries and seven sixes. With opener Salman Khan too chipping in with 54 runs and skipper Jawad Ghani scoring 43 runs, the Vision Shipping posted a whopping 347 for 9 in 50 overs.

 


Chasing the target, Future Mattress were bowled out for 139 in 31.5 overs following Faraz’ three wicket spell and his skipper Jawad Ghani too bagging three wickets.

Future Mattress, who won the toss and elected to field, would not have imagined that such a huge score would be posted against them. They got opener Salman Shahid caught behind by wicketkeeper Abdul Shakoor off M Uzair Khan for 12. One-drop Ali Abid and Salman Khan took the score to 78 in 13.3 overs when Ali Abid got out to Rohan Mustafa for 26.

Nasir Faraz joined Salman and the pair accelerated the run flow and took the score to 150 in 26.3 overs before Salman got out to Muhammad Azhar for 54. When the score was three runs short of the 200 mark, Malik Nadeem fell to Faraazuddin for 21.

 

Skipper Jawad Ghani swelled the total through a fine knock of 43 that came off 25 balls with five boundaries and a six. He fell at the score on 250 in the 40th over to Muhammad Mudassar. Shahbaz Ali got trapped leg before by Uzair Khan but not before taking the score to 302 in 44.5 overs. Fayyaz Ahmed hit a quick 20 before falling to Amjad Gul. The Vision Shipping’s innings ended at 347 for 9.

 


Future Mattress did have the batting strength to chase such a big score but their innings never took off. Opener Abdul Shakoor got trapped leg before by Jawad Ghani for 1. In the second over they lost the prize wicket of Rohan Mustafa clean bowled by Shahbaz Ali for 2. One drop Mayank Kumar fell trapped leg before by Shahbaz Ali.

 

From three wickets down for five runs, Faraazuddin and Ashwanth Valthapppa took the score to 27 when Faraazuddin got bowled by Ikram Janjua for 5. Nasir Faraz also removed Ahswanth Valthappa for 38 just when he was threatening to play a big knock. 

Jawad Ghani made it tougher for Future Mattress by removing Syed Hyder Shah for 5. He also removed the experienced Amjad Gul for 3 to take a firm grip on the match.

 


Usman who played a fighting knock of 66 too became an other Nasir Faraz victim. His run-a-ball knock had five boundaries and two sixes. Nasir Fraz went on to bag his third wicket dismissing Muhammad Mudassar for 2. When Fayyaz Ahmed trapped Muhammad Azhar leg before for a duck, the Future Mattress innings folded up for 139 in 31.5 overs.
