Sharjah Cricket Academy produced a splendid bowling performance to bowl out Seven Districts for a paltry 50 runs and win by 133 runs in the 15th match of the 47th Bukhatir League at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. The destroyers of Seven Districts’ innings were Simranjeet Singh (5 for 20) and Harsh Desai (4 for 30). The duo bowled out Seven Districts in 14.1 overs after Sharjah Cricket Academy were restricted to 183 in 45.2 overs.

It was Sharjah Cricket Academy’s day from the start. They won the toss and elected to bat. Openers Rayan Khan and Aryansh Sharma put on 44 runs in 11.2 overs before Rayan got run out for 10. This was followed by a huge partnership of 97 runs between Sharma and one-drop Kashish Panseja. Zameer Abbasi ended Panseja’s knock of 50 that came off 71 balls with five boundaries and a six. Seven runs later, Aryansh Sharma too followed, trapped leg before by Shahid Nawaz for 76 runs. His knock off 110 balls had seven boundaries.

Zameer Abassi then produced more damage by removing four batsmen in quick succession to nullify chances of Sharjah Cricket Academy recovering and posting a big total. He clean bowled Harsh Desai for 2 and Maroof Merchant for 4, and removed wicketkeeper batsman Mudit Agarwal for 1. When Zameer Abassi had Mohsin Chaudhry out caught and bowled for 1, Sharjah Cricket Academy slipped to 165 for 7 in 40 overs. Skipper Yuvraj Barua took the score to 180 by scoring 20 runs before he fell to Muhammad Farooq Momand. One run later, Faisal Altaf got run out for 1 and Sharjah Cricket Academy’s innings ended in 45.2 overs for 183 runs.

Sharjah Cricket Academy’s response to being bowled out was severe. They started taking Seven Districts’ wickets at regular intervals. Opener Wajid Khan became Simranjeet Singh’s first of the five victims for a duck. Harsh Desai had the first of his four wickets by removing Shaizoo for 3. Kashish Panseja removed Haider Ali for a duck.

Simranjeet Singh continued his act of destroying Seven District’s innings by trapping Farman Ali leg before a duck. When Muhammad Farooq Momand too got trapped leg before by Simranjeet Singh, half the Seven Districts batsmen was back in the dug-out for a pathetic 16 runs.

Harsh Desai made it tougher by clean bowling Muhammad Kashif for 8. Wahab Hassan too became another Harsh Desai victim for 4, after which Seven Districts was reduced to 22 for 7. This was followed by a fighting 18 runs partnership between Lahiru Sandaruwan and skipper M. Haider that took the score to 40.

Lahiru got out to Harsh Desai for 7 while Simranjeet Singh had Haider, who top scored with 13 runs, caught behind by wicketkeeper Mudit Agarwal.  Zameer Abbasi became Smiranjeet Singh’s fifth victim for 1 and Seven Districts innings folded in 14.1 overs.
