Ameer Hamsa bats and bowls Karwan Cricket Club to victory over JVC Stallions in the CBFS T20 match

Karwan Cricket Club’s allrounder Ameer Hamsa batted brilliantly and bowled shrewdly to ensure a seven-wicket win over JVC Stalllions in the 12th match of the CBFS T20 tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The second double header of the day saw Ameer Hamza crack an unbeaten 51 and bag three wickets for just 10 runs from his three overs to ensure a well fought win for Karwan Cricket Club.


JVC Stallions won the toss and promptly elected to bat. They got off to a good start too with openers Muhammad Shahid and Imran Cheetah putting on 32 runs before Tariq Mehmood clean bowled Muhammad Shahid for 13. Two runs later, Zahid got Imran out for 14. Skipper Manikandan Kalimuthu too followed quickly falling to Babar Iqbal for 2 and JVC Stallions slipped to 36 for 3 in 6.4 overs.


Umer Yasin took up the challenge and through some well-placed lofted shots cracked 35 runs off 20 balls with three boundaries and two sixes. He also became a Babar Iqbal victim at the score of 87. This was when Ameer Hamza began to strike. He clean bowled Mohsin Islam for 3. He also dismissed Akmal Rashid for 27 and then clean bowled Muhammad Qassim for 19. Zohaib Gujjar and Bilal Adil got run out after scoring one run each and JVC Stallions were restricted to 136 to 20 overs.


For the experienced Karwan Cricket Club, this  was an easy target but debutants JVC Stallions made it tough for them. Zohaib Gujjar had opener Moazam Hayat caught behind by wicketkeeper Umer Yasin for a duck off the second ball of the first over. Their star batsman Furqan Khalil too got caught behind off Muhammad Qassim for 10. When Qamar Awan too got out to Zohaib Gujjar for 14, Karwan slipped to 29 for 3.


Ameer Hamza then pulled Karwan out of trouble along with Sardar Bahazad. They put on an unbeaten 108 runs partnership and steered their team to victory in 17.4 overs. Ameer Hamza remained unbeaten on 51 off 50 balls with three boundaries and two sixes. Sardar Bahazad remained unconquered on 49 off 41 balls with five boundaries and a six.
