Fayyaz Ahmed’s five wicket spell ensure The Vision Shipping sails past 11 ACE in the CBFS T20 last over thriller

Domestic cricket is blessed with some very strong teams who produce exhilarating cricket. The clash between The Vision Shipping and 11 ACE in the 10th match of the CBFS T20 match at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium was another instance of brilliant cricket that these teams play. Sharjah Cricket, through their tag line ‘a platform to perform’ has been providing the stage for the best of talent in the UAE to sparkle.


The Vision Shipping opted to field first yesterday but failed to break the 11 ACE opening partnership till the ninth over. 11 ACE put on a 91 runs partnership before the consistent Usman Khan who was in full flow and had scored 58 off 32 balls with six boundaries and four sixes got out to Jawad Ghani. Sagar Kalyan and Khalid Shah took the score to 104 when Sagar Kalyan got out caught and bowled by Malik Nadeem for 34. Malik Nadeem also trapped Khalid Shah leg before for 5.

Much was expected off Rahul Chopra but he got bowled by Fayyaz Ahmed for 2. Fayyaz Ahmed also clean bowled Shaurya Singh for 1.  Skipper Kaunain Abbas kept the scoreboard moving but wickets began to fall at the other end. Nilansh Keswani  got out to Saqib Memood for 6. 


Sunny Shah held on and scored 23 runs before falling to Fayyaz Ahmed who was bowling brilliantly.  Fayyaz also got Jiyas out for a duck. Next man Riaz Khaliq Kaku got out stumped by wicketkeeper Umar Arshad off Fayyaz for a duck. Fayyaz returned with figures of five for 22 and restricted 11 ACE to 160 for 9 in 20 overs with skipper Kaunain Abbas unbeaten on 21. 


The start of Vision Shipping’s chase wasn’t as impressive as that of 11 Ace. Their openers added only 25 runs before Salman Khan got trapped leg before to Asadullah Sharif for 13. Skipper Saqib Mehmood and Malik Nadeem took the score to 52 before Saqib got bowled by Asadullah Sharif for 22. Malik Nadeem, who as striking well, fell to Nilansh Keswani for 39. One run later. Nilansh clean bowled Ali Abid for 2.

Fayyaz took the score past the 100 run mark before he got trapped leg before to Jiyas for 7. Nasir Faraz who took his team closer to the target through a knock of 24 too got out at the score on 115. At the score on 131, Umaar Arshad fell to Riaz Khaliq Kaku for 3. Next man Ikram Janjua held on providing good support to Jawad Ghani to take the score to 153 before getting bowled to Nilansh Keswani for 13. 
 


In the last over, Jawad Ghani hit Sunny Shah’s first delivery to the fine leg boundary. He also hit the fourth delivery to the fine leg boundary to remain unbeaten on 28 and help his team reach their target. The Vision Shipping won the match by two wickets with two balls to spare.
