InterGlobe Marine’s Sandeep Singh’s 67 and Colatta Chocolates' Taimoor Ali’s 71 give their teams impressive victories in the CBFS S10 matches

Sandeep Singh hit a fine 67 runs to give InterGlobe Marine a 41-runs victory over Sona Gold & Diamonds while Taimoor Ali’s bright knock of 71 gave Colatta Chocolates a 30-runs victory over 11 ACE in the CBFS S10 matches held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Tuesday. Both knocks were played with such domination that Sandeep’s 67 came off just 24 balls with seven boundaries and four sixes, and Taimoor’s 71 came off 26 balls with six boundaries and five sixes.

 


Sandeep Singh and Hameed Khan give InterGlobe Marine a huge victory

The first match saw InterGlobe Marine’s batting excel once again. Opting to bat first, Sandeep Singh, who opened with Hameed Khan, scored at a brisk pace and put on a 104 runs partnership in 6.3 overs. Sandeep Singh did majority of the scoring by hitting 67 runs before falling to Syed Mohamed Hussain. One-drop Vishnu Sukumaran got out for a duck to the first ball he faced from Syed Mohamed Hussain.

 


Opener Hameed khan and Danish Qureshi took the score to 122 in 8.4 overs before Syed Mohamed Hussain struck again for his third wicket to become the Seven Districts Purple Cap Holder bagging seven wickets from three matches. 
He had Hameed out for 49. Hameed's knock off 21 balls had five boundaries and three sixes. Danish Qureshi remained unbeaten on 23 and InterGlobe Marine posted 146 for 3 in 10 overs.

 

For Sona Gold & Diamonds, inorder to chase this huge target, they needed big scores from their batsmen.  Their openers Zeeshan began well and hit 20 out of the 27 runs opening partnership before falling to Atta Ullah. Opener Aditya too settled down to score 34 but got out to Ahmad Shafiq at the score on 55. Ahmad Shafiq also got Salman Akbar out for 4.

 


Aqeel Siddiqui and Arfinn put on 28 runs for the fourth wicket before Harry Bharwal got Aqeel out stumped by Sandeep Singh for 14. Arfinn remained unbeaten on 23 and Sona Gold & Diamonds got restricted to 105 for 2 in 10 overs.

Taimoor Ali’s fine knock sets the base for Colatta Chocolates' big score

 

The second match too saw the team batting first posting a big total. Openers Taimoor Ali and skipper Renjith Mani put on 45 runs in just 3.4 overs when Mani got out to Riaz Khaliq Kaku for 12. This was followed by a partnership of 85 runs between Taimoor and Laxman Sreekumar for the second wicket. Taimoor got out to Nilansh Keswani for 71 at the score on 130 in 8.4 overs. One run later Laxman too followed falling to Nilansh for 45.  Hari Prasanth got trapped leg before by Ahsan Shah for a duck and Akhil K Das got run out for 3 and Colatta Chocolates posted a huge 140 for 5 in 10 overs.

 


11 ACE began their chase losing an early wicket. Opener Saad Rafai got caught and bowled by Renjith Mani for 9. One drop Fayyaz Frank and Sagar Kalayan took the score to 53 but Fayaz got stumped by wicketkeeper Shakeer Hydru off Intizaar Ali for 12. Runs were hard to come owing to Colatta Chocolates tight bowling.

 


After Sagar Kalyan got out to Gopakumar Gopalakrishnan for 38 in the seventh over, the run flow got even tougher. Skipper Kaunain Abbas hit an unbeaten 25 while Rahul Chopra scored an unbeaten 16 but 11 ACE got restricted to 110 for 3 in 10 overs.
