Varshil Dhamecha and Saif Ali Khan’s half centuries in G Force Under-16 splendid run chase victory

Half centuries from Varshil J Dhamecha and Saif Ali Khan provided G Force Under-16 team an impressive victory over Real Cricket Academy at the Morbi Cricket ground on Sunday. Chasing a total of 251 set by Real Cricket Academy in a 40 over match, G Force won in 33.2 overs. The architects of G Force’s four wicket win were Varshil J Dhamecha who cracked 57 runs off 45 balls with nine boundaries and a six. Saif Ali Khan scored an unbeaten 52 runs off 28 balls with three boundaries and five sixes.

G Force Under-16 won the toss and elected to field. Real Cricket Academy posted an impressive total of 251 in 40 overs. Darsh Desai picked an early wicket removing opener Kuldeep Sonagra for 8. This was followed by a 110 runs partnership between opener Yagnesh Pandya and Dhyey Gadhiya.

 

Dhawnit Parmar ended the partnership by dismissing Yagnesh Pandya for 63, stumped by wicketkeeper Dhwanit for 63. His knock off 55 balls had six boundaries and five sixes. Dhawnit Parmar then went on to dismiss Dhyey Gadhiya too for 40, caught behind by Dhwanit for 40. His knock off 56 balls had six boundaries. 

Skipper Shrey Mordiya and Rashing Kundhiya took the score to 174 in 26.3 overs when Harsh got Shrey out for 17. Next man Jadeja Vishvarajsinh got out for 19, clean bowled by Darsha Desai. Aditya Patel got out for a duck to Darsh Desai giving wicketkeeper Dhwanit another catch. In the 35th over, Chauhan Karansinh got out to Aman Mughal for 7. This was followed by run out of Aryan Patel for 3 followed by the fall of Rashing Kundhiya who had scored 23 before being trapped leg before by Muna. Sneh Loriya then got run out to the last ball of the innings for 13. Real Cricket Academy was thus all out for 251.


Real Cricket Academy had a winning total to start off. Additionally, their quick strikes to take GForce’s four wickets for 50 runs even gave them hopes for a victory. But G Force denied them that with a brilliant fight back. G Force lost their first wicket at the score of 38 when opener Yash got bowled by Chauhan Karansinh for 4. Four runs later, skipper Ayush Rao, who has done the majority of the scoring, got out bowled by Jadeja Vishvarajsinh for 30. At the score of 50, one-drop Nishanth got out to Chauhan Karanshinh for a duck. When Dhawanit Upadhyay too got out to Jadeja Vishvarajsinh for 4, G Force were struggling at 50 for 4 in 7.2 overs.


Varshil J Dhamecha and Aaryan Iyer then took up the challenge and put on a 101 runs partnership for the fifth wicket to take the score to 151 in 21.3 overs. Aaryan got clean bowled to Jadeja Vishvarajsinh for 39. His knock off 46 balls had four boundaries and two sixes. Saif joined Varshil and ultimately steered the team towards the target. 


At the score on 165 in the 23rd over, Varshil got caught and bowled by Dethariya Dev for 57. Saif then took charge, and together with support from Darsh Desai, took G Force to victory in 33.2 overs. Darsh remained unbeaten on 29 off 49 balls with four boundaries and two sixes. Saif remained unconquered on 52 to record a creditable four wickets win.

Mixed luck for G Force Under-14 at the Morbi cricket ground


The G Force Under-14 team played two matches at the Morbi ground. In the 20-over match, Real Cricket Academy defeated G Force by four wickets. G Force had elected to bat first and got all out for 112 in 18.2 overs due to a fine spell of 5 for 15 from Sherasiya Urvesh. Opener Aaryan Iyer hit 12 runs and captain Aditya Ramesh scored 22. This was followed by two batsmen getting out for a duck and another for two runs. G Force crossed the 100-run mark due to Neil Sidharth’s unbeaten 26.

G Force Under 16 boys played against Real Cricket Academy at Morbi 

Real Cricket Academy began their chase on a shaky note losing opener Patel Prajin Hitendrabhai to Aaryan Iyer for a duck. His partner Dev Maksana, before getting run out for 10, took the score to 49. Skipper Viral Rangpariya and Aryan Patel steered their team to a strong position through a 54 runs partnership for the third wicket. Though Aryan got run out for 13, Viral Rangpariya ensured his team a victory through a knock of 63 off 61 balls with eight boundaries and a six before getting out stumped by wicketkeeper Anirudh off Aaryan Iyer.
The match turned into a last over thriller when six runs were needed off the last over. Aditya Ramesh bowled the first four balls tightly  giving away just one run, but off the fifth ball Pranav Joshi hit a boundary to mid-wicket and took a single off the last ball to win the match.

G Force, victory over Real Cricket Academy in the next match was also a closely fought one. In this match, G Force had won the toss and elected to field. Real Academy posted 116 for 5 in 20 overs. The top scorer was opener Dev Makasana who scored a run-a-ball 59 runs with eight boundaries. Tanush Jain took two wickets giving away 13 runs.

 G Force chased the score through a fine opening partnership of 60 in 7 overs. Opener Neil Sidharth scored 24 off 22 balls with four boundaries. Wicketkeeper batsman Anirudh Sanjiv top scored with 51 off 33 balls with eight boundaries and two sixes. Though G Force kept losing wickets after Neil’s departure, the rest of the batsmen chipped in to win the match in 15.1 overs despite losing eight wickets.
