Faisur Rahman hogs the limelight through an unbeaten 73 in Our Souq Cricket Club’s win while Abuzar Tariq shines in Karwan Cricket Club’s victory

Faisur Rahman’s unbeaten 73 off 54 balls with four boundaries and two sixes helped  Our Souq Cricket Club post a challenging 161 for 3 in 20 overs. They then bowled out DCC Starlets for 137 in 18.5 overs to win by 24 runs in the seventh match of the 34th Sharjah Ramadan Cup T20 tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.



In the eighth match, Karwan Cricket Club recorded a five-wicket win over Arqam Cricket Club through Abuzar Tariq’s timely 33 and a breakthrough wicket.

Our Souq Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat. They got an excellent start from their opener Saad Refai and Faisur Rahman who put on 59 runs in 6.3 overs. The next partnership between Muhammad Arif and Faisur Rahman added another 44 runs. Arif, however, got bowled by Zainullah Khan for 23.

 

Skipper Harsha Gihan then took the score to 124 before he got bowled by Soorya Satish for 8. Ravindu Rathnayake scored an unbeaten 15 while opener Faisur Rahman remained unbeaten on 73. Our Souq Cricket Club thus posted a challenging 161 for 3 in 20 overs.

 


DCC Starlets began their chase thorough opener Shaurya Singh, who went for his shots and scored 24 out of the 29 runs in the partnership.  Shaurya Singh got out to Hirantha Baddage. At the same score opener Vansh Kumar too got out to Mohammed Ubaidulla for 5. The third wicket also fell at the score on 29 when Shival Bawa who got run out for a duck.

 

From 29 for 3 in 4.4 overs, DCC Starlets reached 84 for 4 before Hriday Savnani got out to Muhammad Arif for 23. Karan Dhiman along with Soorya Sathish steered DCC Starlets past the 100-run mark. At the score of 103, Karan Dhiman got out stumped by wicketkeeper Ankith off Muhammad Arif for 38. At the score of 128, Soorya Sathish got caught behind by wicketkeeper Ankith off Ravindu Rathnayake for 28.

 

Farman got run out for 3 while Faisal Rehman Soudagar fell clean bowled by Ravindu Rathnayake for 1. At 132, Zainullah Khan too got out bowled by Ravindu Rathnayake for 2. When Ali retired hurt, DCC Starlets got bowled out for 137. Abdullah Tarique remained unbeaten on 10.

Abuzar Tariq shines in Karwan Cricket Club’s win

 

Karwan Cricket Club won the toss and elected to field. Arqam Cricket Club openers Abdullah Ghazi and Wajahat Butt put on 56 runs in 9.1 overs. Butt got out to Babar Iqbal for 27. Four runs later, Abdullah Ghazi fell to Zeehsan Ahmed for 24. Two wickets fell at the score of 69 when Jaffer Naqvi got out to Babar Iqbal for 2 and Muhammad Hilal to Zeeshan Ahmed for 8.

 


Karan Menon took the score to 93 but he fell to Haris Khanzada for 8. Anwar Ayub kept the scoreboard moving but fell at his score of 30, clean bowled by Abuzar Tariq. Danish Imtiaz too got bowled by Abuzar Tariq for a duck. When Haris Khanzada got Tahir Ali out for 22, Arqam Cricket Club got restricted to 133 for 8 in 20 overs.


Chasing the gettable target, the consistent Abuzar Tariq and Qamar Awan put on 44 runs in 2.5 overs. Abuzar Tariq got out to Lucky for 33. One-drop Ameer Hamza too got clean bowled by Lucky for a duck. Muhammad Afzal and Qamar Awan took the score to 77 when Afzal fell caught by Lucky off Muhammad Qassim for 17.

 


At the score of 100, opener Qamar Awan got out to Tahir Ali for 30. Furqan Khalil took his team closer to the target, but at 120, he got caught by Lucky off Anwar Ayub for 28. Incidentally, Lucky was involved in four out of the five wickets that fell, which included his two wickets and two catches.  Moazam Hayat, through an unbeaten 18, took Karwan Cricket Club to victory in 13.3 overs.
