Haider Ali’s four wicket spell and Muhmmad Irfan’s half century guides Seven Districts to a six-wicket win over Nadim Cricket Club in the Sharjah Ramadan Cup T20 tournament

Haider Ali’s four-wicket spell gave Seven Districts a six-wicket win over Nadim Cricket Club in the 19th match of the 34th Sharjah Ramadan Cup T20 tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Haider bowled out Nadim Cricket Club for 140 taking four wickets for 16 runs. Seven Districts reached the target in 16.4 overs through opener Muhammad Irfan’s fine knock of 66.

Seven Districts won the toss and elected to field. Nadim Cricket Club lost their opener M. Sufiyan to the third ball of the first over clean bowled by Haider Ali for a duck. Haider Ali struck again to remove opener Muhammad Nadeem caught behind by wicketkeeper Farman Ali for 12 at the score of 22. One run later, skipper Nadim too got caught behind by wicketkeeper Farman Ali off Muhammad Irshad for a duck. Altaf Commando and Abdul Rehman pushed the score to 80 in 10.4 overs when Commando was clean bowled by Muhammad Irfan for 25.

 

Soon Abdul Rehman  got out to Muhammad Haider for 35 and half the side was back in the dug-out for 84. Zahid Ameer and Muhamad Rehan Shah managed to steer the total past the 100-run mark. At the score of 110, Zahid Ameer got out becoming another Haider Ali victim for 12. Mohammad Wasif and Muhamad Rehan Shah pushed the score to 131 when Mohammad Wasif got trapped leg before to Muhammad Haider for 9. Eight runs later Muhamad Rehan Shah too fell to Haider Ali for 27. At the same score, Haroon Arif got run out for 6.  When Zohaib Ghafoor got trapped leg before by Muhammad Irshad for a duck, Nadim Cricket Club was all out for 140 in 19.2 overs.

 

Seven Districts began their chase through their openers Muhammad Irfan and Farman Ali putting on 23 runs in 2.3 overs before Farman Ali got out to Muhammad Nadeem for 4. This was followed by a match-winning partnership of 72 for the second wicket between Raees Ahmad and Muhammad Irfan. At the score of 102, Raees Ahmad got out falling leg before to Muhammad Nadeem for 31. At the score of 111, Muhammad Irfan, who swelled the total, became another Muhammad Nadeem victim for 66. His knock off 39 balls had seven boundaries and three sixes.

 

Skipper Muhammad Haider took up the responsibility of carrying his team to the target and hit a valuable 17 runs before falling to Faris Faisal. Shahzad Ali, with an unbeaten 10, and Haider Ali (5n.o) took their team to the target in 16.4 overs.
