Nisar Afridi’s allround show propels SRK Diesel Trading to a 27-runs win over Colatta Chocolates in the Sharjah Ramadan Cup T20 tournament

A match-winning allround show by Nisar Afridi steered SRK Diesel Trading to a 27-runs victory over Colatta Chocolates in the 16th match of the 34th Sharjah Ramadan Cup T20 tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. SRK Diesel Trading posted 141 for 8 in 20 overs through Nisar Afridi’s 41. Colatta Chocates got bowled out for 114 in 18.3 overs after Nisar Afridi destroyed their middle-order through a three-wicket spell.

 


Nisar Afridi shines with the bat and ball


Colatta Chocolates won the toss and elected to field. SRK Diesel Trading’s opener Safi Ullah got clean bowled to Manpreet Singh for 4 in the fourth over. Opener Suliman Saeed and one-drop Nisar Afridi took the score to 69 in 10.3 overs when Saeed got run out for 30. Saqib Khan joined Nisar Afridi and maintained the run flow. At the score of 82, Nisar Afridi too got run out for 41. Sagheer Afridi and Saqib Khan then steered the total past the 100-run mark. At the score of 117, Afridi got clean bowled to Keshav Sharma for 14. One run later, Rehan Dilawar Malik too got clean bowled to Keshav Sharma for a duck.

 

Abid Ali too departed quickly falling to Renjith Mani for 1. Skipper Muhammad Dawood became another Keshav Sharma victim for 3. Keshav Sharma picked his fourth wicket when he clean bowled Khan Wazir for a duck. Saqib Khan scored an unbeaten 40 and guided SRK Trading to a challenging total of 141 for 8. Keshav Sharma returned with figures of 4 for 24 from his four overs.

 


Chasing the gettable total, Colatta Chocolates’ opener Janaka Chaturanga got bowled to Muhammad Shahbaz for 4. They lost their star batsman Renjith Mani at the score of 11 to Muhammad Shahbaz for 1. One-drop Shabik and Laxman Sreekumar put on a fighting 49 runs partnership for the third wicket before Sreekumar got out to Khan Wazir for 16. Shabik who kept the scoreboard moving got clean bowled to Khan Wazir for 48 at the score of 74. His knock off 32 balls had seven boundaries.

 

The going began to get tougher for Colatta Chocolates when six runs later Akhil K Das got clean bowled by Nisar Afridi for 6. Nisar Afridi also clean bowled Mazhar Hussain for a duck. When Nikhil Srinivasan too got clean bowled by Nisar Afridi for 4, SRK Diesel Trading took a firm grip on the match. Krishan Paul was then clean bowled by Muhammad Shahbaz for 5. Five runs later Manpreet Singh got run out for 1. When Keshav Sharma got out to Abid Ali for 23, Colatta Chocolates’s innings folded up for 114 in 18.3 overs.
