Nisar Afridi’s allround show fuels SRK Diesel Trading to a five-wicket win while Usman Khan’s half century gives Future Mattress a 12-run win in the Sharjah Ramadan Cup T20 tournament

Nisar Afridi’s allround show guided SRK Diesel Trading to a five-wicket win over UAE Champions in the 22nd match of the 34th Sharjah Ramadan Cup T20 tournament at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. UAE Champions were restricted to 139 in 20 overs through Nisar Afridi’s two timely strikes with the ball. SRK Diesel Trading reached the target in 11.3 overs through Nisar’s valuable 25 runs and Saqib Khan’s unbeaten 53.

 


In the 23rd match, Future Mattress stopped CSS Group by 12 runs after posting 184 in 19.4 overs through Usman Khan’s 55 runs. CSS Group was restricted to 172 for 7 in 20 overs despite Vishnuraj’s knock of 57.

UAE Champions won the toss and elected to bat. Opener Muhammad Usman and Banty Nandy put on 22 runs in the first three overs before Nandy got out to Saqib Manshad for 11. Soon Muhammad Usman too followed getting out to Muhammad Shahbaz for 14. Two runs later, Abdul Rehman got out to Muhammad Shahbaz for 2. This was followed by a 57 runs partnership between Haroon Altaf and skipper Zohaib Haider. Nisar Afridi broke the partnership by clean bowling Zohaib Haider for 35. At the score of 100 in 13.5 overs, Rakesh Singh got Haroon Altaf out for 28.

 

Rakesh Singh got Iqrar stumped by wicketkeeper Muhammad Dawood for 8. At the score of 122, Muhammad Umer was run out for a duck. When Nisar Afridi also removed Rehan Khan for 8, UAE Champions’ hopes of a big score began to fade. Seven runs later, Jeet Buttar was stumped by wicketkeeper Muhammad Dawood off Saqib Manshad for a duck. When Vivesh got run out for 7 to the last ball of the innings, UAE Champions got all out for 139.



Chasing ther target, SRK Diesel Trading batted intelligently. Openers Suliman Saeed and Rehan Dilawar Malik put on 39 runs in 3.1 overs. Rehan Dilawar Malik got clean bowled by Muhammad Umer for 4. Suliman Saeed took the score to 57 when he got bowled by Zohaib Haider for 41. His knock off 16 balls had eight boundaries and a six. Nisar Afridi took up the mantle of pushing his team closer to the target. At the score of 93, Nisar Afridi was stumped by wicketkeeper Muhammad Usman off Rehan Khan for 25.

Saqib Khan went for his shots and steered SRK Diesel Trading past the 100 run mark. At the score of 118, Skipper Muhammad Dawood got out to Rehan Khan for 6. At the same score, Safi Ullah became another Rehan Khan victim for a duck. Saqib Khan remained unbeaten on 53 off 18 balls with five boundaries and four sixes, and together with Asif Zaman (4n.o), the pair ensured SRK Diesel Trading a five-wicket win in 11.3 overs.

Usman Khan’s valuable half century in Future Mattress’s win

 

CSS Group won the toss and elected to field. Future Mattress lost their opener Abdul Shakoor to the first ball of the innings run out for a duck. At the score of 12, skipper Usman got out to Gihan Chathuranga for 1. Opener Usman Khan and Fayyaz Ahmed took the score to 100 in 10.2 overs before Usman Khan got out to Zohaib for 55. His knock off 33 balls had ten boundaries. At the score of 116, Fayyaz Ahmed fell to Nipun Babu for 40. His knock off 26 balls had one boundary and three sixes.

 


Half the Future Mattress batters was back in the dug-out for 123 in 13.2 overs when Syed Haider Shah too fell to Nipun Babu for 14. Next man Umair Ali got out to Zohaib for 7. Four runs later, Nasir Faraz became another Nipun Babu victim for 12. Uzair Khan and Sajjad Malook swelled the total to 178 in 18.3 over before Uzair Khan got out to  Gihan Chathuranga for 29. Sajjad Malook then got out to Farzeen Ahmed for 10. When Farzeen Ahmed got Rohid too out for a duck, Future Mattress got all out for 184 in 19.4 overs.

 


CSS Group chased the target losing opener Abhinand Maladath early on to Rohid for 11. One-drop Fazal Oasis fell to Umair Ali for a duck. This was followed by a fighting partnership between opener Zohaib and Abhiram Hrithwik. They took the score to 71 in 9.3 overs. Zohaib got clean bowled to Usman Khan for 36. Soon Abhiram too got out to Muhammad Azhar for 21.

 

Vimalnadh and Vishnuraj steered the total past the 100 run mark. At the score of 119, Vimalnadh got bowled by Umair Ali for 16. Rohid struck again to clean bowl Farzeen Ahmed for 9. Vishnuraj pushed the score closer to the taget but fell to the first ball of the last over, run out for 57. His knock off 32 balls had five boundaries and two sixes. This dismissal scuttled CSS Group’s hopes of achieving the target and they lost by 12 runs.
