Skipper Renjith Mani leads the way for Collaze Bake House’s five-wicket win over Z Game Strikers

Collaze Bake House skipper Renjith Mani led from the front to ensure his team a five-wicket win over Z Game Strikers in the sixth match of the 29th Bukhatir League T20 contest on Wednesday night at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. He not only top scored with a timely 31 runs but also picked a valuable wicket and produced a run out to restrict Z Game Strikers to 142 for 4 in 20 overs. Collaze Bake House won the match in 15.5 overs.

Collaze Bake House won the toss and elected to field. Z Game Strikers openers Muhammad Furqan Khalil and skipper Shahrukh Muhammad Amin scored 37 runs in the powerplay. Furqan Khalil got clean bowled to Mazhar Hussain for 12. Shahrukh Muhammad Amin, who kept the scoreboard moving, was clean bowled by Touqeer Riyasat for 33. Moazam and Awais Nazir pushed the score to 95 in 14.2 overs before  Nazir got run to Renjith Mani for 18.

 

Ashwanth Valthappa and Moazam then steered the total past the 100 run mark. At the score of 108, Ashwanth Valthappa got caught and bowled by skipper Renjith Mani for 3. Moazam then went on to complete his half century. He along with Sardar Bahazad (6n.o) put on an unbeaten 34 runs for the fifth wicket. Moazam remained unconquered on 52 off 38 balls with two boundaries and two sixes and Z Games posted 142 for 4 in 20 overs.

 


Collaze Bake House was given a breezy start by its skipper and opener Renjith Mani. He hit a quick 31 off 15 balls with five boundaries and a six after putting on 46 runs with opener Qamar Awan. Mani got out to Muhammad Ismail Afridi. One drop Hari Prasanth and Qamar Awan added 60 runs for the second wicket before Hari Prasanth got caught behind by wicketkeeper Moazam off Karthik for 18. At the half way mark, Nikhil Srinivasan got out to skipper Shahrukh Muhammad Amin for 10.


Qamar Awan, who kept the scoreboard moving, became another Muhammad Ismail Afridi victim for 30. His run-a-ball knock had two boundaries. Laxman Sreekumar and Akhil K Das carried their team closer to the target. At the score of 120, Laxman Sreekumar got out caught and bowled by Shahrukh Muhammad Amin for 11. Akhil K Das (11n.o) and Touqeer Riyasat (17n.o) carried the team to the target in 15.5 overs to win the match by five wickets.
