The New York Warriors finish at the top as California Knights, Texas Chargers and Morrisville Unity qualify for US Masters T10 League playoffs

Misbah Ul Haq, known for consistently defying his age to deliver match-winning performances, once again showcased his prowess in the 21st match of the US Masters T10 League to give New York Warriors a 33-runs win over Morrisville Unity . This match took place at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida on Friday. Despite the formidable efforts of Morrisville Unity's pacer S. Sreesanth, who claimed 3 wickets for 25 runs, the 49-year-old Misbah contributed significantly by scoring a crucial 38 runs. His effort enabled the New York Warriors to post a competitive total of 139 for 6 in 10 overs.


In response, Morrisville Unity struggled to accumulate runs, managing only 106 for 3 in 10 overs. This victory propelled the New York Warriors to the top of the league table. Following them were the California Knights in second place, while the Texas Chargers and Morrisville Unity secured the third and fourth positions respectively, thereby qualifying for the playoffs.


In the upcoming matches, the Qualifier 1 will witness a clash between the New York Warriors and the California Knights. Simultaneously, the Eliminator will feature a contest between the Texas Chargers and Morrisville Unity. The Qualifier 2 will be between Winner of Eliminator vs Runners-up of Qualifier 1 scheduled for Saturday.


Opting to bat after winning the toss, the New York Warriors saw opener Kamran Akmal fall victim to Sreesanth's bowling for 23 runs at a total score of 31. Shortly after, at a score of 33, Richard Levi was run out for a duck due to Sreesanth's efforts. The partnership of Tillakaratne Dilshan and Misbah Ul Haq then propelled the team's score beyond the 100-run mark. However, at a total of 107, Misbah was dismissed by Navin Stewart for 38 runs. Misbah's knock, spanning 14 balls, was decorated with five sixes and a boundary. 


Tillakaratne Dilshan contributed 37 runs off 19 balls, featuring three boundaries and three sixes, before being caught and bowled by Stewart at a total of 109. Shahid Afridi's quick innings of 22 runs from 11 balls, including three boundaries and a six, concluded with his dismissal at the hands of Sreesanth. Umaid Asif also fell to Sreesanth in the last over, managing no runs. Despite these setbacks, the New York Warriors posted an impressive total of 139 for 6 in 10 overs.


While chasing the target, Morrisville Unity struggled to maintain a steady run flow. Opener Parthiv Patel was bowled by Jerome Taylor for 14 runs. Shehan Jayasuriya and Obus Pienaar formed a partnership that pushed the total to 88 in 8.2 overs. However, Umaid Asif's bowling removed Shehan Jayasuriya for 44 runs. His innings, comprising 24 balls, featured six boundaries and a six. Asif conceded only seven runs in his ninth over.


With 46 runs required from the last over, Abdul Razzaq bowled out Obus Pienaar for 27 runs with the first ball of the over. Although Jonath Foo managed to hit a six off the fifth ball, Razzaq conceded only 12 runs in the over. This effective bowling performance limited Morrisville Unity to a total of 106 for 3, resulting in a 33-run victory for the New York Warriors.
